Hey everyone,

So, as you may have noticed, the new blog has imported all of our old posts from blogspot over here, along with the comments.  Unfortunately, since I imported the posts through my wordpress account, I am the current author of all of the previous posts.  However, once everyone joins, posts from now on will be differentiated between us.

In order for our posts to be more organized than our blogspot, I propose a few things:

1)  As we each make our posts, we use the “tags” function.  These tags are little data-labels for each post, and they all link to one another.  So, for instance, when you are making a post, in the “tag” dialogue box under your posting box, type something like “Harsh Intersection” and “Maria Stern,” with the two separated by a comma.  This will tag the post with both of these terms, and the blog will automatically bind posts with similar tags together.  Using these tags will allow us to have a very dynamic way of connecting our blog posts together, and string disparate posts together through theme or author.

2)  In order for this tag system to work at its best, I propose we tag all of our posts with these things:  the names of the authors we are talking about, or referencing; the theme of the week, like “methodology,” and then any other tags we think are relevant.  This way, in the future, if someone makes reference to MacKinnon and tags her in their post, we can click the tag “MacKinnon” at the bottom of the post and every other post that tags MacKinnon will refresh onto the page.  Pretty swanky, eh?

cheers,

Kevin
